Alpine tour coaching on the Gross Diamantstock

The area of Bächlital and Gauli is fantastic for high-altitude tours. The granite mountains offer great rock for climbing and together with the beautiful glaciers you can experience the high mountains in this rope team coaching. The tours are varied and offer cool terrain to learn and experience. We will spend two nights in the Bächlitalhütte and then make the crossing to the Gaulihütte. We will undertake different practice tours each day and you will learn what is important in mountaineering and how to move efficiently and safely on alpine tours. Both huts are superbly catered for. Esther and Beni's Bächlital, beautifully situated on the sun terrace, and Katrin and Roger's newly renovated Gauli hut.

Tour programme and topics
Possible tour itinerary:
- Day 1: Arrival, getting to know each other, getting to the hut and climbing in the climbing garden
- Day 2: Application tour on the Alplistock
- Day 3: Crossing to the Gaulihütte including a tour to the pre-summit of the Gross Diamantstock
- Day 4: Glacier training and glacier science or tour on the Hangendgletscherhorn
- Day 5: Climbing tour on the Gwächte, descent into the Urbachtal valley
On each tour, the current topic is discussed and deepened. Depending on the knowledge and ability of the participants, the following topics are covered:
- Learn to move quickly and safely, be it on rock, snow or ice
- 3×3 planning
- Different levels of rope handling
- Abseiling techniques
- Decision-making
- Stand construction with mobile belay devices

- Area: Bächlital and Gauli
- Meeting point: 10.04 Räterichsboden (arrival of the bus)
- Conclusion: approx. 15.00 Meiringen
- Overnight stay: Bächlitalhütte & Gaulihütte
Requirements
- You have first experience on high tours.
- You have first experience with ice axe and crampons.
- You know the belaying technique from climbing indoors.
- Condition for high altitude tours with around 1000hm ascent and descent at a comfortable pace (~300hm/h).
Group size
- Takes place with up to 6 guests per mountain guide.
Price and services
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.
- Excluding accommodation costs, approx. 80.- CHF per night with half board.
