Overview of the offer

This four-day ski touring course with practical tours is varied and exciting. During the training and practical tours, we will teach you the basics of ski touring and provide you with individualised feedback. In this course, we have enough time to cover all aspects of ski touring. The aim is to teach you all the basics of ski touring so that you are well prepared and trained to enter the world of ski touring. During these days we will learn the following topics and apply them in practical tours:

  • Ski touring technique: ascent with skins, hairpin bends, tips for descending in deep snow
  • Avalanche rescue: handling avalanche transceiver, shovel & probe
  • Avalanche awareness: assessment and basics
  • Orientation: route selection in the terrain and using a map, tour planning

We will organise these days according to your needs and possibilities. If you would like different input, we can make it happen. We will go on a beautiful ski tour every day and simply enjoy nature and ski touring.

We spend the night in the simple Hotel Tiefenbach. Here we have great hospitality and a great starting point for various tours. It is also very high up, so snow is guaranteed.

That's what our guests say:

  • Nadja Berz

The course was the ideal introduction to ski touring for me. I learnt a lot about equipment, walking and skiing techniques, avalanche awareness, rescuing companions, tour planning and off-piste orientation. Now I feel ready to go on easy tours myself. We had a great, fun group and very committed mountain guides who led us professionally through the 4 days. I can highly recommend the course.
