Approach to the Mittellegi hut at the eiger

The Mittellegi Integrale is the superlative of the Mittellegi ridge. Here you can say that you have climbed the entire ridge from the Ostegg to the Eiger. We start here at a leisurely pace and climb from the Scheidegg via ferrata to the Ostegghütte. A cosy, small self-catering hut. From there, two magnificent days on the Eiger begin: the first stage is lonely and wild. We reach the ridge via a small couloir and climb along it to the Mittellegi hut. There is a small slab wall here where our surefootedness is tested. However, we often hold on to our heels to avoid expending too much energy. We arrive at the Mittellegi hut and enjoy the eagle's nest high above Grindelwald with views down to the valley and a marvellous evening atmosphere. On the third day, we continue along the classic part of the Mittellegi ridge to the summit. The ascent is entertaining and varied. The technically exciting part comes again on the descent via the Eigerjöcher and back to the Jungfraujoch. After a well-earned lunch at the middle station, we enjoy our tour and travel back home.
