View of the Gross Diamantstock via the east ridge

The high tour to the Gross Diamantstock is a gem on the Grimsel Pass. The ascent along the east ridge, in the morning sun, offers beautiful climbing. Our tour begins in a relaxed manner with the approach to Räterichsbodensee. From there we hike through meandering glacier streams across the beautiful glacier forefields to the Bächlitalhütte. There are a few nice climbs here to prepare us well for the next day. The early start brings us to the east ridge at dusk, where we climb together towards the summit in marvellous climbing, often in the III degree of difficulty. We cross the Gross Diamantstock, descend a little to the south and reach some abseiling and descending passages. A short section takes us over the glacier and we return to the Bächlitalhütte. After a delicious coffee and cake, we return to the valley and enjoy a great tour with wonderful memories of having experienced it together!
