Ice climbing multi-pitch course and tours with a mountain guide

We build on the basics of ice climbing and undertake multi-pitch tours on ice. You will learn from mountain guides how to move more ergonomically and safely. This will enable you to make accompanied starts on short multi-pitch routes on easy icefalls.

Ice Climbing Course

In this course we build on the basic techniques of ice climbing and learn how to climb multi-pitch routes on ice. Ice climbing is a wonderful discipline in a unique, icy and snowy winter landscape. Climbing multi-pitch routes on ice is a whole new perspective on winter. We place particular emphasis on hazard management, safety techniques, climbing strategies and minimising the risk of injury. Learn how to move safely and efficiently on rock and ice in combined terrain with your ice tools and crampons.

  • Venue & meeting point

Flexibility is very important when ice climbing. If necessary, we adapt the course and tour area to the prevailing conditions. We organise this course and tour days at two locations. Either in eastern Switzerland, probably in the Avers Valley. Or in the Bernese Oberland with Valais, probably in Kandersteg. We will stay overnight in a hotel or guesthouse. This will be booked at short notice depending on the conditions. We will organise ourselves in carpools.
