Uri Haute Route | Ski tour from Andermatt to Engelberg with a mountain guide
Impressive ski crossing with sunny ascents and long, north-facing descents!
The Uri Haute Route leads from Andermatt to Engelberg and is an impressive ski crossing for downhill-orientated ski tourers. The ascents are sunny and the descents are always north-facing and promise beautiful snow in perfect skiing terrain. The stages lead past the wild granite mountains of the Uri region, embedded in a wild landscape, we experience a very cool haute route together! There are various variants on this crossing and, in addition to the classic variant, there are also unknown crossings and possibilities. Depending on the conditions, we will use our knowledge and expertise to choose the best option to ensure we are as isolated and adventurous as possible. We spend the night alternating between an SAC hut and a mountain hotel, where you can shower again 😉 We start with a leisurely ascent to the Albert Heim hut. We then set off straight away on a magnificent stage: over the Lochberg we set off on the huge descent down to the Göscheneralp reservoir. Here we spend the night in the Berghotel Gwüest. We continue in an exciting stage over the Bergseeschijen to the Voralphütte. Now the longer tour over the Sustenhorn and its rugged glaciers awaits, with a long descent to the Susten Pass. We cruise along hidden routes through the labyrinth of crevasses and enjoy the rugged nature. After another night in the mountain hotel, we head through the landscape around the Susten Pass, which is peppered with many small couloirs and crossings, to the Grassen. We look for a small crossing that is rarely used and climb the Grassen. Here begins the last, but mighty descent of a total of 2000 metres, always north-facing, down to Engelberg. Experience one of the coolest ski tours with us. We love this tour and know several variants to find beautiful snow, secluded terrain and a cool ambience!

Travelling by public transport is recommendedfrom Realp via Schafberg to the Albert Heim hut
We meet in Realp and climb over the Schafberg, our first summit, to the Albert Heim Hütte. Roman from the Albert Heim Hütte provides us with great hospitality here.Albert-Heim hut - Lochberg - Göscheneralp
First magnificent crossing over the Lochberg to the Göscheneralp. After a varied ascent into the winter gap and a short ski-carrying passage, we reach the Lochberg. After a long descent, first over a small glacier, we reach the Göscheneralpsee and shortly afterwards the Göscheneralp. We spend the night in the warmly run Gasthaus Gwüest near Seraina.Göscheneralp - Bergseeschijen - Voralphütte
An adventurous section awaits us today. We climb up to the Bergseeschijen, trudge up through one of the many couloirs and reach the summit of the Bergseeschijen. From here, a long descent through playful terrain awaits. A short ascent in the opposite direction brings us to the advance hut.Voralp - Sustenlimi / Sustenhorn - Sustenpass
A longer section awaits us today. We climb directly up to the Chelenalplücke, cross this and the Sustenlimi and reach the huge glacier of the Sustenhorn. If we still have breath left, we climb the Gwächtenhorn or Sustenhorn. On the Gwächtenhorn in particular, we have the opportunity for a magnificent, somewhat steeper descent through the glacier. We ski down over the Steingletscher to the Sustenpass. We choose one of the numerous variants to experience untracked terrain and impressive, solitary nature. We stay at the hotel in the Alpine Centre near the Steingletscher on the Susten Pass. Here we also refresh ourselves with a shower 😀Sustenpass - Gwächtenhorn - Engelberg
The crowning glory awaits us today. We climb up through the Obertal valley and reach the summit of the Fünffingerstock between the steep rock faces. An impressive first descent over the glaciers of the Sustli area brings us to the second ascent, to the summit of Grassen. From here we ski down the wide slopes of Grassen over the Firnalpeli glacier to Engelberg. Another magnificent descent to round off the day. Happy, tired, proud and full of new shared experiences, we arrive together in Engelberg.
